In the spring of 2020, the US Census will take place. The census is a count of all people living in the US and takes place every 10 years. It is simple and confidential to complete. For the first time, you can respond online. You will receive a unique identifying number in the mail, which will allow you to fill out the online form beginning March 2020. Here are some things to know:

Your identity remains anonymous - regardless of immigration status, the information cannot be used against you

The Census is important - it helps decide how much federal money our school districts get over the next 10 years, and how much our state will get for parks, neighborhood improvements, public health, transportation, etc

The Census is safe - all the data collected is protected under law and remain confidential for 72 years by law.

Are you looking for a preschool program for your child? Moreland School District has its very own play-based preschool open to three and four-year-old children in the community. Annually, the district provides a TB clinic for staff and parent volunteers to update their TB results. You may also update your TB results with your physician and/or medical provider.
This year, the district will have a registered nurse on site at the District Office who will perform a verbal risk assessment for TB. No shots!! There is no cost to parent volunteers to use the TB risk assessment clinic.
We will be conducting the walk-in TB risk assessment clinic 3:00 p.m.—4:30 p.m. at the District Office on the following dates. There is no need to pre-register:
December 3, 2019
December 10, 2019
December 17, 2019
Please see your office staff for a Risk Assessment form; fill it out and bring it with you. You will meet briefly with the nurse to review your responses. If you do not have any of the risk factors associated with TB, the nurse will sign your form, we'll make a copy for our records, give you a copy, and you’ll be good for another four years.

At the November 12th Board of Trustees meeting, the Board passed a Bond Resolution to place a Facilities Bond on the March 2020 ballot. Outreach sessions to all schools, parent organizations, and community groups took place last spring and the data analyzed of the types of categories needed, the support of our voters, and the review of our bond capacity took place this fall. It was determined that if passed in March, this Bond would support safety and maintenance concerns across the district, as well as improved facilities for students and staff.

This Friday, December 20th we have an early dismissal. Students in TK/Kindergarten will be dismissed at 11:50 am. Students in grades 1st - 5th will be dismissed at 12:00 pm.

Family Science Night will be held on December 4th from 6-7:30pm in the MU room. This years theme is Gadgets in Motion. Explore the physics of motion using fun, creative gadgets. Escaping air causes a propeller to spin. A single marble uses momentum to move a mountain of marbles. Straws and paper transform into a launching rocket. Children and parents will look at science in a new way as they explore the way things move!
