Be Seen and Heard
Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades TK through 12.
Victor Pacini, a survivor of sexual abuse, author and motivational speaker, will be assisting our schools in implementing this mandate. Be Seen and Heard, Mr. Pacini’s assembly program, is developmentally appropriate, interactive, and aligned with learning standards. The assemblies are presented in specific grade level groups to ensure that the message is age appropriate for all students. The focus of the presentation is to teach children basic skills to keep them safe from dangerous or abusive situations. The concepts that will be discussed are:
Distinguishing safe from unsafe touches
It’s not the child’s fault if someone touches him or her
Telling a trusted adult
Safety rules at home and school
Mr. Pacini or his colleague will be presenting virtually at all sites.
November 4: Middle school grades 6-8 at Latimer and EDS
November 5: All elementary grades TK-5 and ISP students
November 8: All grades 6-8 at MMS
November 10: 5th grade at Payne (alternate day due to science camp)
