Moreland School District is proud to offer a new distance learning support and Extended Day program! Our Learning Centers will provide a safe, in-person program for Moreland students in grades TK-5. Students will be given individualized support by trained staff members to ensure that they are engaged and thriving in their distance learning program.

Program Highlights:
Experienced staff members with knowledge of Moreland’s online platforms and distance learning schedules, routines and procedures
Daily monitoring of class assignments and work submission as directed by classroom teachers
Weekly communication with families and teachers regarding student progress
Enrichment activities including STEAM, indoor and outdoor games, and arts and crafts
Social Distancing during all activities and stable cohorts
Age specific cohorts of up to 12 students
An after school Extended Day program is also available to all registered Learning Center students at an additional cost

In an effort to better accommodate and support our student’s tech needs the Tech Dept will provide onsite tech support days on Wednesday afternoons (12pm-3:30pm). This includes pickup and support for hotspots.

I am writing today to inform you that Moreland Schools will not be implementing a hybrid model beginning in January due to significant increasing numbers of cases in our county and across the state and country, and will instead continue in full distance learning. As our county enters the purple tier, with higher numbers than ever before, it is not prudent nor possible for our schools to move toward in-person instruction at this time. Again, the safety of staff and students is our first priority. Our intended decision date was December 1, 2020, but we are making this announcement today to provide some peace and clarity in your lives as you enter your much needed vacation week. We will reevaluate the status of COVID in January 2021, with an announcement in early February.
